- Excellent biodegradation: OK Compost HOME certified (tested at 20 – 30 °C) which allows biodegradation even at low-temperatures conditions, that are common in the UK´s environment. This ensures that a breakdown outside the industrial composting (OK Compost/EN 13432) is possible. You will find further details in the product description.
- Extra thick, extra large: TSP biodegradable waste bags have a thickness of 18 microns, extra opaque) – Extra strong and moisture resistant. Our bags are extra large (23 x 33 cm), for easy and safe disposal of dog poo.
- Plant-based: TSP Biodegradable Poop Bags are made with 30% renewable resources (corn starch), the rest is petro based, but has a chemical structure that is accessible for enzymes, afterwards it can be broken down and by micro-organisms to water CO2 and biomass. Please Note: Bags made of 100% corn starch are almost impossible to produce with the current state of the art, if you should see such an offer, you should ask how much the share of renewables really is.
- Our Bags are FREE FROM plasticizer, polyethylene and GMO. Packaging: The Box is made from FSC certified material and the core is made of cardboard instead of plastic.
Description
‘The Sustainable People´s biodegradable Poop Bags are made from high-quality biobased material. They are extra thick, leak-proof, very hard to see through and comfortable to use. The handy rolls fit into most dispensers and any pocket. But most important TSP biodegradable Dog Waste Bags are certified OK Compost home (tested at 68°- 86° F / 20 – 30 °C), which ensures that the biodegradation can take place under low-temperature conditions that are common in the UK. Many other bio-degradable products in contrast, are certified in compliance with “OK Compost” or “EN 13432” only. Those certificates are based on tests under aggressive industrial composting conditions at 140 – 158 ° F (60 – 70 °C) which can not be compared to the composting conditions in UK´s environment at all. Other brands even offer normal plastics (PE or polyethylene) as “biodegradable” or “compostable”, when they use additives such as “Epi” or “d2w”. When exposed to sunlight, those substances lead to a faster shredding of the PE film (OXO degradation). That has nothing to do with the degradation process of our compostable Poop Bags where the material can be broken down by enzymes and afterwards metabolised by microorganisms. If you have a compost in your garden, we invite you to take the test: place one of our bags on your compost and compare it to any other dog waste bag, it should outperform probably any other material on the market (for the test please use food waste instead of dog poop because the latter one can contain pathogens). One note: The degradation of PVA bags cannot be tested this way because they are soluble, they will be gone for the eye very soon, the degradation of the material, however, can take many months.
